“I had the pleasure of having Nicole as my doula and childbirth educator, and I cannot recommend her highly enough! I would not have been able to get through the last few weeks of my pregnancy, let alone my labor, if it weren’t for her. The childbirth class that she did for us was so wonderful and informative, and it really helped put both myself and my husband at ease. The lessons were especially so valuable for him to learn how to help me during pregnancy and labor and postpartum. The fact that she herself was also a VBAC mama helped tremendously, since she was able to use her real world experience and knowledge for our classes. We hired her towards the end of my pregnancy but she was so accommodating and squeezed in two private classes for us in our home even though we were in a time crunch. Once the on-call period started she would check in frequently even if I didn’t reach out, and she was great with answering any questions I had, and just as a constant reminder to stay calm and relaxed. The day that my labor started she helped me over the phone in early labor, and once full blown labor started she was at my house right away at 2am to help me through contractions until it was time to head to the hospital. At the hospital she advocated for me, and reminded me to stand up for myself; she decorated the delivery room beautifully and made such a tranquil calming atmosphere. She was by my side for each contraction, helping me through the pain. I cannot express enough how helpful she was at teaching me to cope and breathe and get through every contraction. I would not have been able to do it without her. Ultimately after I got to 10cm, my labor ended in an emergency c-section due to uterine rupture - during the emergency surgery she was by my husband’s side the entire time helping him to remain calm. She stayed (past the amount of time contracted) in recovery with me while he went to the NICU to see the baby. I am forever grateful for her and everything she did for us, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula. She is such a calming energy, and it felt like we knew her forever. Even postpartum she checked in on me often because of my traumatic delivery. In the early postpartum weeks I looked forward to her visits, it felt like a longtime friend was stopping by to check in. Her background in perinatal disorders is a huge bonus and always put me at ease knowing that she would be on the lookout for my own mental health postpartum. I really cannot say enough great things about her and how much I recommend her to anyone looking for a doula, especially for VBAC pregnancies.”

“I met Nicole through my beloved mom Facebook group Birth and Beyond Resources. I was looking for a birth class bc I wanted to be as prepared as I could be for my Vbac. I also knew I didn’t want an audience bc I’m very self conscious of my body. How wonderful is it that Nicole comes to your home to teach private classes!!! It was meant to be. My husband and I really enjoyed Nicole’s presence and found her to be very knowledgeable and informative. I also found it helpful that she had a Vbac herself. I recommend Nicole whenever I can because it was an awesome experience and class. She’s kind, friendly and funny-my type of person.
On a side note, Nicole was training to become a doula at the time I was giving birth so I gave her permission to be at the birth. It was a beautiful space. Although I didn’t get my Vbac Nicole advocated for me to have my baby as soon as possible to nurse and have skin to skin contact. It was super helpful to have an extra set of hands after the birth bc I was never alone. Nicole is supportive and caring. If We decide to have a 4th baby, I’ll definitely use her services again.”

“I hired Nicole to be my doula for the very recent birth of my son.  He was born 7/12/2020.  My husband and I have been singing her praises to so many people lately, and my doctor loved her too!
I wanted to seek out a doula in order to pursue a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), as I struggled with my c-section recovery 4 years ago and wanted a more healing birth experience this time with greater emphasis on maternal health and well-being.  Nicole made this all possible for me.
I carefully researched and vetted several doulas.  Nicole put me at ease and gave me more confidence than the others with whom I spoke.  Throughout my pregnancy, she responded to my texts and calls with great care.  When I had worries, she was a huge help and a great source of information.  When it came to my birth experience in the hospital, her help was pivotal.  I had contractions that were triple peaking as well as a failed epidural.  Nicole provided lots of hands-on counter pressure and helped guide my breathing and vocalizing so that I could get through them.  It was very difficult for me to communicate with hospital staff and even with my husband through some of the pains of labor, but Nicole listened closely and heard every little word I uttered.  She advocated for me tirelessly.  She watched me closely and was extremely proactive in keeping me and my baby safe and in making sure I was as comfortable as I possibly could be.  She was also very encouraging of me and assured me that my body and me were doing exactly what we should be doing.  She gave me the confidence to achieve the vaginal birth I wanted.  She made me feel so strong and proud.  Additionally, it has been just over a week since I had my baby, and Nicole has checked up on me regularly.  She has helped me through both my postpartum recovery questions as well as questions about caring for my newborn.  She continues to make me feel like a confident mother and provides evidence based care with special attention to mental health as well.
I highly recommend her as a doula without any reservation. I would hire her again in a heartbeat (and if I get pregnant again, I will)!”

“We used Nicole for both our child birth Ed classes and as a doula. As a first time mom I was looking for as much information on child birth as possible to feel prepared for any of the many things labor could throw my way. I spend a long time researching different educators and Nicole stood out from the beginning. She was able to come to our home to do in person classes for my husband and I. Nicole is extremely knowledgeable and truly helped us feel prepared for the labor and delivery process. The educational was invaluable for me specifically because it allowed me to raise questions and concerns I had with my provider. Ultimately I decided switching providers was the best decision for the me to have the birth I desired. The education I received from Nicole gave me the confidence and knowledge to not only have that conversation but also helped me make a more educated choice with my next provider.  As a doula Nicole was invaluable during the birthing process. She was right there during each contraction, wether it was applying counter pressure, coaching me through each breath or empowering me with her encouraging words. Nicole also helped my husband and me by reminding us of our birth plan and encouraging us to advocate for what we wanted. My labor was long and Nicole was with us in the hospital for many hours, during that time she was extremely patient. Ultimately my labor wasn’t progressing and finally ended in a c section due to a knot in the cord. Nicole stayed during the surgery and met us in the recovery room where we could finally introduce her to our little one.
After delivery she checked in several times the first couple of weeks to make sure we were all adjusting to home life. Nicole even came to the house for a postpartum visit which I really appreciated. She is so kind and makes you feel so comfortable. She has an incredible amount of empathy and validates all of your feelings whatever they may be, this is where her background as a counselor really shines through. During my time with her I felt so comfortable like she was an old friend and having her support throughout the process was incredible. I’m not sure how I would have done it without her!”

Nicole is amazing! I was pregnant with my second child when I decided to hire a doula. I hoping for a VBAC after an unplanned and somewhat traumatic c-section with my first. Nicole supported me throughout my pregnancy, during my birthing experience, and after. She was an essential part of my pregnancy/birthing team and I could not have done it without her! She provided excellent education classes while I was pregnant and prepared me and my husband for what to expect and how to best work together and with my medical providers. Nicole is a fantastic communicator and really fosters an environment of empowerment and communication with the full birthing team. One thing that I did not expect was how much more my husband was going to feel an essential part of the birthing team compared to the first time. Nicole encouraged very important conversations prior to giving birth that we had not had previously. During the birth, my husband was so much more involved and Nicole supported him in helping meet all my needs- it was an amazing experience for the both of us! I had a longgg labor and Nicole was there for us the whole time- either right by our sides or one call/text message away. She went back and forth to our house twice and back and forth to the hospital twice after being sent back home because I was still in early labor. She was basically awake for several days with us and supported us the whole time- I could not have done it without her! She has professional and personal experience being a VBAC momma herself. She guided us through countless position changes, literally got in the shower with me during labor, and helped me feel educated and empowered every step of the way.

“As a first time mother I didn’t understand what was happening to me when I came home with my baby and just couldn’t stop crying. I didn’t think postpartum depression would happen to me. Why wasn’t I in perfect happiness? What kind of mother is sad or resentful that her newborn won’t latch? A bad mother. A mother who didn’t deserve her baby because I couldn’t feed him from my body. When I started therapy with Nicole I finally understood that happiness at this new beautiful life I created and the mourning of my inability to breastfeed were not exclusive. I am not a bad mom, I am a human being. Therapy with Nicole saved my life. She helped change the way I think not just about motherhood but about life and myself. She helped me be as kind to myself as I would another, something that hasn’t come easy for me. She’s always reminding me to name my feelings, name the thoughts, and realize that there is a difference between facts and feelings. She has sat with me in my tears and smiled with me in my joy. She’s accommodated me at moments notice when the sadness or anxiety was too overwhelming. She is what every therapist should be, and I can’t thank her enough.”

“ I had started seeing Nicole just before becoming pregnant, during my entire pregnancy and a year postpartum and I’m beyond thankful for her. She was so helpful and reassuring during my entire journey as a 1st time mom. She helped me mentally prepare for this major life change as well as focusing on improving other areas of my life and shifting my anxious thoughts and behaviors. I continue to implement her advice on a daily basis. I really appreciate her for always caring and her gentle therapeutic approach and I can’t recommend her enough.”
